Artifact Type: Vocabulary lists for the Princeton school district music department that I obtained during a Professional Learning Community Meeting
Rationale For Inclusion: Competency D8 states that a teacher of vocal music shall understand the impact of reading ability on student achievement in music, recognize the varying reading comprehension and fluency levels represented by students, and possess the strategies to assist students to read music content materials more effectively. Part of reading is learning new words. In music there are many vocabulary words that a music student learns during his or her academic career. These vocabulary words are very important when it comes to interpreting a musical score or understanding class directions. I think this is an excellent vocabulary list and I would not hesitate to use such a list in my future teaching.
