Rationale For Inclusion: Competency D7 states that a teacher of music shall understand the role and purpose of co-curricular and extra curricular activities in the teaching and learning process. For high school musicians, Solo/Ensemble contest can be a very exciting opportunity. It is an event in which students may perform a solo piece, participate in a large or small group, or both. The performers perform before judges who rate them on a point system. This point system equals a rating of either Superior, Excellent, Good, or Fair. This can be a wonderful opportunity to learn what judges look for in a quality performance. These Judges Sheets are from such an event.
