Artifact Type: A 2002-2003 events calendar for the Princeton High School Choral Department

Rationale For Inclusion: Competency D7 states that a teacher of music shall understand the role and purpose of co-curricular and extracurricular activities in the teaching and learning process. This is an example of an events calendar for a choral department much like you would find at any high school. Some events such as "Concerts" or "Graduation" are required as part of the curriculum. However other events such as "Jazz & Broadway Night" and the "Madrigal Dinner" are extra curricular activities. These extra curricular activities give students the opportunity to be involved in something other than regular school with which they can have fun. Not only that but it has been said that extra curricular activities promote self-esteem and foster creativity.
